Dear parents and carers,

Further to my letter at the end of term, I am writing to update you on the current position as students return to learning on Friday 7th January.

As you will have seen on the news, students are required to wear masks/face coverings in lessons as well as in communal areas. Please ensure your child arrives with clean masks daily, if your child is exempt, they will require a lanyard which you will need to provide.

As I write, we are in a position to continue with face-to-face teaching here at the Academy, however, if we experience staff absences, we may need to return to remote learning. I will update you as soon as possible but please have in place the necessary equipment for your child to access the online lessons, similar to those delivered from January to March in 2021.

During break and lunchtime, students that are not eating meals will be asked to go outside to minimise the amount of time students are wearing masks and take advantage of fresh air; please ensure your child has correct outdoor wear.

Please continue to test your child twice weekly and take advantage of the vaccinations available.

Your child should not come to the Academy if they have any Covid 19 symptoms. Visitors to the Academy will be by invitation only, please do not come on to site unless you have been invited.

I know we all hoped the new year would offer some return to normality, with the continued restrictions and measures in place and us all working together, hopefully this will be realised soon.

Thank you in advance of your support.

Mrs C A Wilson – Principal
