ROAD CLOSURE on approach to the Academy (Woodhall Road and junction with Tudor Road)

Posted on: 1st November 2021

We wanted to share news of a current road closure which will affect cars, motorbikes and buses trying to access the Academy tomorrow; we do not currently know how long the roadworks  are expected to take (‘Cadent’ appear to be working on underground gas supply pipes), but the work is fairly major (‘deep excavation’) and we would advise all those hoping to ‘drive’ to the Academy to consider making arrangements for a different route (and preferably, a different drop off/collection point) for AT LEAST the rest of this week, as a precaution. THE FOOTPATH IS STILL ACCESSIBLE FOR PEDESTRIANS AND CYCLISTS PUSHING THEIR BIKES.

REMEMBER – school/public service buses will need to adjust their routes also – which may mean them arriving and leaving via the same route, making it more difficult for car drivers to avoid queuing traffic and congestion.

It will NOT BE POSSIBLE TO drive up to, or leave, the Academy site via the top (Tudor Road end) of Priory or Woodhall Roads (off Melford Road); access is via Clarence Road ONLY.
