At Ormiston Sudbury Academy, students are all affiliated to one of our four houses, each headed by a Head of House (who deals primarily with the academic progress of students) and House Manager (who deals primarily with pastoral issues and emtional support). More about each house team, and the famous person behind the naming of each house, is available by clicking on the links below.
Within each of the houses students are sub-divided into six tutor groups, in which there are a number of students from each year group i.e. Year 7 through to Year 11. This is called a vertical tutor group. We believe that having the opportunity to work with students of all ages is really important as it enables students to make friends in different year groups, to support new students in the academy and to learn from students older than themselves.
Students in our sixth form (Years 12 and 13) are currently sub-divided into five tutor groups, each with their own sixth form tutor, and retaining an allegiance to one of the four houses above.
