Dear Parents and Carers,
The timing of the school day will be changing from 1st September 2023
I am writing to inform you of a change to the structure of the Academy day here at Ormiston Sudbury Academy.
You may be aware that the Government has issued a white paper called Opportunity for all, the focus is on strong schools with great teachers for your child and it sets an expectation that all state-funded mainstream schools will deliver a minimum length school week of 32.5 hours as soon as they can, and from September 2023 at the latest.
For our academy this will mean that from September 2023 we need to add 10 minutes per day; we will move from an 8.50am start to an 8.40am start; all students will need to be on site at 8.40am.
The information in this letter has also been sent to Suffolk County Council and the bus providers; we will make sure we work together so that there is minimal disruption.
I appreciate that these required changes may affect you in terms of childcare or working arrangements, which is why we have given so much notice.
